Mill Valley Announces the 2025Ā MilleyĀ Creative Achievement Honorees, Highlighting Honorees on October 26th at the MV Community Center!
The Milley Awards Executive Committee and the City of Mill Valley proudly announce the five honorees for the 2025 Creative Achievement AwardāThe Milley. They are Jerry Harrison, Irene Belknap, Joyce Kleiner, Jeff Brown, and Jim Welte.Ā These Mill Valley residents with distinguished accomplishments in the arts and service to the community will be honored at the 34thĀ MilleyĀ Awards dinner onĀ Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Mill Valley Community Center. TheĀ 2025Ā MilleyĀ AwardsĀ AreĀ FastĀ Approaching!Ā The celebrated composer and lyricist Rita Abrams will emcee this yearās Milley Awards for Creative Achievement, October 26th at the Mill Valley Community Center. A gala dinner and program will begin with appetizers by Paseo Bistro chef AngĆ©lica Duarte and complimentary wine from Bay Area vintners, followed by a lavish buffet dinner by Ghiringhelli Catering. The award presentations will culminate with a performance by celebrated musician Jerry Harrison, this yearās Milley honoree for musical arts. Seven accomplished Mill Valley residents will be honored at an elegant program and buffet supper from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 27 at the Mill Valley Community Center. The six will receive bronze statuettes designed by the late sculptor John Libberton. Mill Valley is the only city in Marin County that officially recognizes the talents and achievements of people in the arts.

This 33-year-old Mill Valley gala event sponsored by the Mill Valley Arts Commission and the volunteer Milley Executive Committee, honors local artists in the literary, visual, musical, and performance arts as well as those who have contributed greatly to the arts community of Mill Valley. āIf you look under it from the inside, you can see daylight throughout it, and thereās some places vegetation is starting to grow and get hold, and itās an untreated wood-shingle roof, so it has a fairly short lifespan,ā said Mark Neumann, the cityās deputy director of operations and utilities. The creekside mill in Cascade Canyon was one of the first built in the Bay Area, according to the Mill Valley Historical Society. Erected around 1835 by John Reed, it is one of the oldest standing mills in California.

A research team from the University of Oxford then compiled all 215,801 responses into a map of the state, broken down by county.
