Green Change, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness, is hosting the popular Earth Day Marin festival on April 23, 2023, from 1 to 5 pm, at the Mill Valley Community Center , 180 Camino Alto.
Earth Day Marin is a free, family-friendly event that engages thousands of people in creative activities, art, music, talks and booths about climate action.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
- A climate action center demonstrating green actions
- Over 50 green exhibits like MCE and Good Earth
- An EV Show by Ride and Drive Clean will present new electric cars and e-bikes
- Earth Day Art Exhibits, including “Nature’s Hope and Fury” from April 1 to 23
- Artists like Tom Killion and Zoe Fry will inspire climate action through art
- Musicians like Matt Jaffe and Andre Thierry will perform live outdoors
- Youth activities include a climate advocacy workshop, art exhibit, art making and earth wheel
- Mother Earth’s Puppet Playhouse, a fun activity for kids to help offset climate change
- Earth Day Prizes, wishing trees, zydeco washboards — and FREE ice cream!
“Climate change threatens all life on earth,” says Fabrice Florin, Executive Director of Green Change, Earth Day Marin organizer. “But we can solve this crisis by taking action in our daily lives. If we all do this together, we can slow down global warming and protect our future. The key is to stay hopeful, live sustainably and find joy in taking action with your community.”
Earth Day is celebrated around the world by more than 1 billion people, as part of a growing environmental movement that shares this vision and is committed to a green, prosperous, and equitable future, according to global organizer EarthDay.org.
