We’ve long been enamored with the amazing Grace Kraaijvanger and the incredible The Hivery community she has fostered, TWICE.

Grace had to pivot the co-working space and inspiration lab she launched in in 2014 that welcomed thousands of women entrepreneurs, writers, and artists to downtown Mill Valley. She’d started a first-of-its-kind female-fueled co-working space in the United States, bringing people from all over the Bay Area and beyond to her innovative and beautiful space. So, when the pandemic turned her in-person business upside down, Grace held steadfast to her mission to elevate the potential of women, even if it meant creating an entirely new offering. Prior to the pandemic, and during what was hoped to be a short and temporary closure.

The Hivery boasted more than 600 members and thousands of others who attended the Hivery’s regular personal and professional workshops and events. Driven by inclusion, the Hivery sought to help women, whether their current path was a career change, getting back in the workforce, launching a new business, writing books, monetizing their art, exploring a new field or something else entirely. Kraaijvanger remained resilient as always.

But guess what!?! She pivoted once again, this time in a space on 475 Miller Ave., adjacent to TamalPie. “I couldn’t ignore the constant drumbeat of how much our community missed having a space to connect,” she says. “I couldn’t ignore how untethered people are feeling right now. How we need a sense of belonging in our lives. How we yearn for joy, beautiful space, and a hug.” They opened their doors in late March!

And more importantly, the Pacific Sun just spotlighted The Hivery among the Best of Marin 2025! Named Best Co-Working Office Space by Pacific Sun readers, The Hivery in Mill Valley is more than just a place to work—it’s a movement. A hub for creativity, mentorship and meaningful connection, The Hivery provides women with the space and support they need to build the next chapter of their lives.

Founder Grace Kraaijvanger built The Hivery on three guiding values: kindness, creativity and community. Her goal? To create a metaphorical—and literal—space where the creative and collaborative process is embraced not just by artists, but by anyone seeking purpose-driven work and a life that matters.

More than 8,000 women have found guidance through The Hivery’s offerings: co-working, retreats, a signature incubator, master classes, and soon, a podcast. Whether you’re building a business or finding your voice, The Hivery exists to help you express yourself authentically, show up fully and surround yourself with others who believe in what’s possible for you.

“It’s a movement about working in an entirely different way,” says Kraaijvanger on her site. “We hug, we belong, we learn, we mentor and we elevate.” In Marin, where the line between work and purpose is often beautifully blurred, The Hivery proves that success doesn’t have to come at the expense of one’s soul.
