One of Mill Valley’s most exciting stretches in the calendar is upon us, with an amazing Concerts on the Plaza in the rearview mirror, a reimagined 66th Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival arriving Sept. 23-24, Movies in the Park wrapping up with Pirates of the Caribbean on Oct. 13th at Old Mill Park at sundown and, without further ado, the 46th Mill Valley Film Festival swings into town from Oct. 5-15
Amidst all that excitement, Sunday, October 1st from 1pm-5:30pm in the Depot Plaza parking marks the return of the Mill Valley Community Block Party, Larry the Hat’s free (donations accepted) gathering to raise funds for Kiddo!
This year’s event is a special one, as longtime Bay Area bassist Angeline Saris, whose career boasts a who’s who of legendary collaborators, including Narada Michael Walden Band, Ernest Ranglin, Zepparella, and most recently Todd Rundgren, has pulled together her “Celebration of Women in Music” to Mill Valley, featuring Saris, Shelley Doty, Sunshine Garcia Becker, April Grisman, Daria Johnson, Vicki Randle, Tracy Blackman Tallula Rice, Scot Guberman, Chris Detrick and Cam Perridge, all to benefit KIDDO! Arts Education in Mill Valley Schools.
As usual, the Beer Garden will benefit Kiddo! with plenty of food and drink available, including Sweetwater Sliders, fries and vegan fava bean sweet potato mushroom stew, Rocco’s Pizza, Local Kitchens blend, Waldscraft Artisan Bakery with Fiorello ice cream and sorbet.
The Fashion Show will present new Fall Styles from some of Mill Valley’s “Best of Marin” boutiques.
“Many of these shops and sponsors have supported all of our efforts for many years to make Mill Valley the incredible place we all love,” Lautzker says. “Let the participating groups know they’re appreciated!

always happy to see this event come around ~ larry does a great deal for mv ~ but please, as a teacher and nit-picking typo/grammar queen, i must alert you to an error in your copy above ~ in your copy, you say, “without further adieu'” but the phrase is “without further ado” ~
of course, it is ironic that i personally choose to eliminate capitalization and punctuation from my own message ~
thanks for the website, i enjoy it!
Looking forward to all the wonderful Mill Valley events
Had the pleasure of seeing Angeline Saris at last week’s Fall Arts Festival, rocking out with rock a Billy maestro Jinx Jones.
She was amazing & Vicky Randle, Shelly Doty and Tracy Blackmon, etc. will be an incredible afternoon. Thank you cousin Larry!
