County’s Hopes for an Innovative Proposal to Split Marin City Affordable Housing Between 150 Shoreline Hwy. in Tam Junction & 825 Drake Ave. in Marin City Hits Another Significant Snag
Caleb Roope, chief executive officer of the Pacific Companies, the project’s developer. “That isn’t how we see it.” Roope said the bonds were issued long ago and purchased by Citibank. He said the ruling has failed to shake Citibank’s confidence in the project. “Everybody takes for granted that you’re not going to be able to unwind approvals that have already happened,” Roope said. “The ruling doesn’t have an effect on what we’re doing and our ability to proceed.” Roope said his company owns the land in Marin City and has all of the needed approvals.

Angela’s Ice Cream Co-Owner: “There’s Something About This Place. There’s the Beauty, the Connection to the Larger Bay Area – People in this Region Vote with Their Dollars”
At the other end of that Throckmorton Ave. block, there’s also no doubt that another relative newcomer, blockbuster hangout haven for a slightly different clientele is Angela’s Organic Ice Cream, the latest edition in a long line of fantastic ice cream shops in the 94941 (shout out to Baskin Robbins’ incredibly long run ‘til it closed in 2011.) In each case, the lines out the door say it all. Angela’s Organic Ice Cream was originally founded in Petaluma as Lala’s Creamery. Angela Garat and her son, Ignacio, purchased the business and recipes in 2017, and it’s been full speed ahead ever since. There is MUCH more to come, as you’ll read here.
Car Talk: Jason Sibley Liddle Makes the Leap to Expand on Mill Valley’s Ever-Growing Car Culture with Moto Ranch Marin
“Creating such communities isn’t easy these days, with work-from-home, social media, and a sense of isolation haunting previously bustling places,” Liddle says. “This is my niche way to chip away at the loneliness pandemic, genuinely and with the intention of strengthening community bonds. Refine what real community is, amplify it, and repeat it in other places that need it. That is how I plan to create and spread positivity in the world—my contribution to the human race.”
