Mill Valley Restaurant RallyAs we head into September, which signals our transition into Late Summer, it also kicks off an absolutely rip-roaring series of events, starting this weekend with the long-cherished Homestead Valley Music, which returns on August 26th at the Homestead Meadow at the Homestead Valley Community Center. Things ramp up quickly on Sept. 9th with Sound Summit, one of the biggest and most locally beneficial live music events in town, set in one of the Bay Area’s most spectacular and intimate venues at the historic Mountain Theater, a 4,000-seat natural stone amphitheater atop Mount Tamalpais. That same weekend is the Mill Valley Arts Commission’s Concerts in the Plaza series on September 9-10, with two full days of live music featuring an array of acclaimed local bands, as well as a few exciting special guests.

Then we arrive at the 66th Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival, one of the oldest art festivals in California celebrating local and Bay Area artists returns to Old Mill Park through the weekend of Saturday, September 23rd and Sunday 24th, with the illustrious DjangoFest right behind it Sept. 28th-Oct. 1st, with the 2023 Mill Valley Film Festival capping it all off Oct. 5-15.

Why are we synopsizing all these major late summer events? Because they offer the perfect opportunity, before and after you take in all of that amazing art of every stripe, to eat, drink and shop to both lighten your wallet and support the amazing retailers in Mill Valley.

And we have the perfect opportunity for you to do so: to celebrate downtown Mill Valley’s recent makeover, restaurants around the plaza are uniting to host a one-week Restaurant Rally, presented by Marin Magazine and the Marin Dish. The promotion encourages diners to discover all the new restaurants along the square, as well as revisit their old favorites. Restaurants will offer diners a special 3-course prix fixe menu for $55 (September 10-17), as well as an $8 specialty cocktail to complement their meal.

To encourage customers to return, every night eight lucky diners will have the chance to win a Golden Ticket. The recipient of the Golden Ticket will receive a $50 gift card for their next visit to each of the Restaurant Rally restaurants.

The participating restaurants are: Coho, Piazza D’Angelo, Playa, Paseo Bistro, Bungalow 44, Gravity Tavern, Rock + Rye at Sweetwater Music Hall.

We’re getting hungry just thinking about it!
