The Milley Awards Executive Committee and the City of Mill Valley proudly announce the five honorees for the 2025 Creative Achievement Award—The Milley. The 2025 Milley Awards Are Fast Approaching! The celebrated composer and lyricist Rita Abrams will emcee this year’s Milley Awards for Creative Achievement, October 26th at the Mill Valley Community Center. A gala dinner and program will begin with appetizers by Paseo Bistro chef Angélica Duarte and complimentary wine from Bay Area vintners, followed by a lavish buffet dinner by Ghiringhelli Catering. The award presentations will culminate with a performance by celebrated musician Jerry Harrison, this year’s Milley honoree for musical arts. Tickets ($100) go on sale September 7 at milleyawards.org.

Nominations are now open for the 2025 Milley Awards for Creative Achievement. This 33-year-old Mill Valley gala event sponsored by the Mill Valley Arts Commission and the volunteer Milley Executive Committee, honors local artists in the literary, visual, musical, and performance arts as well as those who have contributed greatly to the arts community of Mill Valley. Now that they’re back, the Milleys are spreading the word that the Nomination process is now open – the deadline for new nominations is April 18, Thursday, at noon at City Hall. Forms are online at milleyawards.org and there are hard copy forms around town at the Chamber, City Hall, O’Hanlon Center’s Loft, Lando and Seager-Gray Gallery.

They’re honoring Milley bronze statuette sculptor John Libberton, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 96, as well as Reed Fromer, an inspiring, enthusiastic and devoted teacher, musician, composer, activist, writer, humorist, husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, nephew, friend, and mentor to many, He died at the age of 55, died on July 1, from cancer.

Mill Valley’s Milley Awards on October 22 will be the first without the creator of the Milley bronze statuette, sculptor John Libberton, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 96. He will be fondly remembered.
