Tam Valley Elevations and Flooding Risk

We’ve long since passed the point of needing reminders that our climate is in peril. But with the likely coming king high tides this winter, the Tam Valley Sea Level Rise Task Force, part of the Tam Valley NRG Network, looks to continue its work to educate the community and take action.

In partnership with District 3 Supervisor Stephanie Moulton-Peters. the Tam Valley Sea Level Rise Task Force is assembling a group of experts to better inform the community and seek to wrap up the initial scoping and outreach phase of preparing the Tam Valley area for the impacts of sea level rise.

The event, set for Thursday, Nov. 17 from 7-8:30pm at the Tam Valley Community Center (203 Marin Ave.), will feature Moulton-Peters and a quartet of speakers:

“Stephanie Moulton-Peters has been with us every step of the way and has broadly championed our efforts,” says Doug Wallace, co-chair of the Task Force. “She will keynote the event and help the audience understand the political context for our efforts going forward.”

Breakout discussions at small tables will follow the presentations, and speakers will roam the room to answer questions that come up at the breakout tables. The event will conclude with a brief report out from each table, and descriptions of how they’ll finalize a set of guiding principles to help define the solution set.
