Dec. 11th event puts the spotlight on the Tam High Foundation.

With the holiday shopping season fully upon us, the folks at the Mill Valley Lumber Yard are launching their first annual Holiday Faire.

The event, which will feature live music, warm drinks, an array of holiday shopping opportunities, visits with Santa and his elf, various themed workshops hosted by MVLY retail and food tenants, roasted chestnuts by the Southern Marin Fire District and much more.

Here’s a schedule of events:

Dec. 8, 5-8pm

Celebrate the Holiday Faire kick-off with holiday music and carols. Mulled wine and hot chocolate will be served.

At 5pm, Watershed restaurant hosts a festive cocktail workshop featuring Steve Turner with Starward Australian Whiskey and Free Spirits non-alcoholic bourbon. Steve will teach guests how to make a few fabulous cocktails, with plenty of swag to take home afterwards. Cost is $30 per person. Call 415.888.2406 to reserve. The class will be held inside Eddy Bar & Bottle, adjacent to Watershed.

From 5:30-6pm, Erin Morris’ Fideaux shop hosts a dog parade throughout the Lumber Yard courtyard. Have your pooch come dressed to impress for the chance to win a special prize. The parade will be followed by Candlelit Carols-Drop-in from 6-7:30pm.

Dec. 9, 10am-7pm

This is an evening to enjoy the faire. Live Music by Matt Bolton from 5-7pm. Gather with friends for mulled wine and grab a bite to eat Millie’s Crêpe et Creme or on the patio of Watershed. Sign up for the listed workshops directly with the host.

Biodynamic Champagne Tasting with vineyard owner, Clémence, at The Eddy Bar and Bottle. Lelarge-Pugeot is an eighth-generation winery in the Premier Cru village of Vrigny on the rolling slopes of the Montagne de Reims. Register by emailing Fabien at rety.fabien@gmail.com. 10:30am-1:00pm Mon Rêve Chocolate Art Studio Holiday Chocolate Bonbon Workshop is just in time for the holidays! In this class participants will learn to temper chocolate by hand and create 24 bonbons piped with dark chocolate ganache using a professional chocolatier mold. Each participant will receive six gift boxes to package giftable sets of four bonbons. Classes are intimate and limited to 10 participants. Registration begins on November 22. 11:00am-5:00pm Maker’s Market is hosting their final event of the year. 20 local artists for an open-air Craft Fair.

Dec. 10, 10am-6pm

Today is Maker’s Market Day! There will be 20 artists selling their work. Chestnuts roasting in the parking lot by the MV Fire Department. Live Music, mulled wine, warm beverages and delicious food. Sign up for the listed workshops directly with the host.

From 10:30am-3:30pm, Make Pet Ornaments with V. Mimiaga Art Studio. Pets are part of the family and now you can make them part of the tree. This workshop is $20 per person and a great one for children too. Sign-up with Victoria 415-606-8270 in advance. 10 people maximum per hour. Each ornament should take less than one hour to complete.

1pm-3pm Organic Wine Tasting & Meet the Wine Maker, Michael McCullough from Outis, at Eddy Bar & Bottle. Outis Wines is a tiny production of thoughtfully made wines based in Oakland, California. Walk-ins welcome. $20.00pp price for tasting to be paid on-site.

This is a free community event open to all ages and rumor has it even Santa may be there! Tam High Foundation is grateful to be the community beneficiary on the day.

10:30am-3:30pm: Bienvenue à Millie’s Crêpe et Crème! Come dine with us and bring a friend, a lover, or your little rascals with you! This lovely brunch includes: A reserved table for one hour, unlimited crêpes, ice cream and milkshakes of your choosing, a complimentary bottle of bubbles, a pitcher of orange juice and some brewed coffee. Pricing for 2 adults : $175 A family of 4: $200 Additional children: $25/per child. You will use unique natural elements: foliage, berries, pods, feathers, sponge mushrooms & eucalyptus. Limited to 6 people per class. 2:30pm-4:00pm (GF) Gingerbread House Decorating with Flour Craft Bakery. A fully assembled (6”x8”) gingerbread house will be provided as will royal icing and an array of festive candies for decorating. Participants will be able to take home their finished masterpiece. Sign-ups will be available on-lineshortly. The cost is $75.00 p/p with a maximum of 20 ppl. Advance reservations are required and payment is due at time of booking and is non-refundable. 5% of proceeds will be donated to Tam High Foundation.
