As readers of this space will recall, we’ve regaled the incredible personal and professional collaboration between Allie Allen and Sasha White – best friends since birth who grew up a block apart in Mill Valley, stayed extremely close through the ebbs and flows of childhood, high school, college and beyond.

The duo’s Shiny Shed Collective, their nascent home design firm, launched in 2022, and recently scored a spread of their work in domino magazine.

The piece features their clients’ renovated kitchen in the Sunset District of San Francisco.

“We are thrilled,” White says. “As a newer company, it feels like a milestone to have a publication from which we have been finding design inspiration for years writing about a space we created.”

The four-month remodel of the 144-square-foot, L-shaped kitchen last year came with a budget of $100,000 to $125,000 and a design brief to update the space.

It’s a new year and a new kitchen for one San Francisco family, and a big moment for Shiny Shed Collective, the Mill Valley interior design and decorating firm that designed it.

Shiny Shed Collective co-founders Allie Allen (who recently welcomed a baby boy) and Sasha White (who’s planning her destination wedding) have another reason to celebrate this week: a spread of their work in domino magazine.
