J. Hunter Moore has been named the recipient of a 2022 Impact Award by Vistage, the world’s largest CEO coaching and peer advisory organization for small and midsize businesses. The Impact Award recognizes the remarkable development and achievement of trailblazing members with one to three year’s tenure.
Moore is the CEO of The Redwoods, A Community of Seniors, Mill Valley’s longstanding non-profit organization whose mission is to provide high quality housing and services to moderate and low-income seniors. The Redwoods has had a remarkably low number of COVID cases throughout the pandemic, completed several revitalization projects over the same period, been able to provide several bonuses for their team members, and supported several local businesses, artists, and musicians.
In addition, Moore has served on the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce as the Treasurer, Vice Chair and currently Chair. The Chamber has provided significant support to businesses during this challenging time, including hosting a highly successful Mill Valley Music Festival (also supported by the Mill Valley City Council, Mayor, and City employees) that brought much of the community together and supported the Chamber as well as local charities and schools.
”Hunter is an inspiration to his peers and impacts the well-being of his communities,” says Julie Reinganum, Master Chair Vistage Worldwide. “He never hesitates to step up to a challenge and support his peers when they need to make tough decisions. During COVID, Hunter and his team took great care of The Redwoods Community. All the while, Hunter has become a leader in the local Chamber of Commerce and led its efforts to have a great impact in our Community. Congratulations on an Award well-deserved!”
“This has been a challenging, and frankly exhausting, period,” Moore says. “It has been particularly hard for those of us who provide health services. We do not do this work for the recognition, but because we love to help others. It is honor to be recognized, but truly this award belongs to every member of the wonderful and dedicated team, the residents, families, volunteers, and Board that make up the community of seniors that is The Redwoods. It has been great to work with, hear from, and learn with leaders in other business over this time.”
