Since the first arrival of the COVID-19 crisis in the U.S., congregate, skilled nursing and assisted living centers have been among the hardest hit communities. But with stalwart leadership and ongoing vigilance, The Redwoods, A Community of Seniors in Mill Valley, has not been among them.

The community has avoided a positive coronavirus diagnosis in 2020, and in recognition of that achievement, the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce nominated Hunter Moore, CEO of The Redwoods, as its 2020 Business Citizen of the Year Honoree for Bank of Marin‘s Spirit of Marin Awards.

“Hunter has displayed extraordinary leadership throughout the #COVID-19 crisis and taken initiative to protect the staff and residents of The Redwoods and the community at large,” Chamber Co-Director Paula Reynolds says.

“This award is really about everyone who works hard to make this place so very special – the staff, residents, volunteers and the greater community that is so supportive of our vision for providing excellence in senior living for Marin,” Moore says.
