Navigating Climate ChangeWestminster Events are back!

The free series of curated events were launched in in March 2022 by Mill Valley resident Erin Elliott, as a local “community learning center” offering compelling, and relevant speaker programs, as well as regular classes and workshops, housed on the beautiful campus of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Tiburon.

Elliott is kicking off the 2023 series with a powerhouse cast of community-minded advocates focusing their energy and expertise on a topic that will dominate our conversation and challenge our commitments for years to come.

Dick Spotswood, longtime Marin IJ columnist and former Mill Valley city council member as well as three term Mill Valley Mayor, will moderate an engaging and informative panel discussion with three “in the trenches” Marin elected officials on this topic surely top-of-mind for all local residents. Participating in this panel will be Mill Valley’s Stephanie Moulton-Peters, long time civil servant both locally in Mill Valley as well as our current Marin County Supervisor. She will be joined by another Mill Valley resident, venture investor and recent addition to the Marin Municipal Water Board, Jed Smith, together with Melissa Blaustein, current Mayor of Sausalito, who has a deep focus in environmental sustainability issues.

All four individuals engage with this topic regularly seeking key answers to the complex questions about Marin’s climate future. This discussion will include an opportunity for you to offer up your own questions.

The Event is FREE, with a reception to follow. From 3:30-4:30pm, there will be a moderated panel discussion, followed by a reception from 4:30-5pm.

Westminster Events are held at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 240 Tiburon Blvd. Tiburon.

Previous WE events featured Hromada’s co-founder Nataliya Anon in conversation with Mill Valley and Marin community advocate; Tiburon Town Councilmember Noah Griffin in conversation with Rev. Rob McClellan, Westminster’s senior pastor, as well as Paula Reynolds, a force of nature in Mill Valley for decades and the director of operations at the Mill Valley Chamber, interviewing author and longtime Marin Independent Journal columnist and editor Vicki Larson. The series also included a compelling focus on Diane Kahn, founder of Humans of San Quentin and a Belvedere resident, in conversation with Rob McClellan, Sr. Pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
