Scop Family’s Chabad Mill Valley, Throws a Shofar in the Park Event in Old Mill Park – Oct. 3rd, Old Mill Park
Chabad Mill Valley, the local chapter of one of the largest Hasidic groups and Jewish religious organizations in the world, has been in Mill Valley for nearly 20 years. Chabad Mill Valley founders Rabbi Hillel and Chana Scop have another reason to celebrate. They’re hosting Shofar in the park with a Tashlich ceremony at Old Mill Park. Meet at the Amphitheater. “Join us to hear the sounding of the Shofar on the first day of Rosh Hashanah, followed by Tashlich!” says Chana Scop. “Adults and children of all ages are welcome.”

Shamsian started researching enterprises with more security for leaseholders and learned that gas stations are subject to a law that strengthens protections for retailers. He started looking for a pump to take over, and it was his wife Fariba who first learned that the Mill Valley Arco was about to hit the market. Shamsian started managing the station in 1995 (Arco’s owner, Marathon Petroleum, is still the landlord) and quickly saw that he’d have to take a risk if he was going to succeed. “I just had to go and sacrifice pricing,” he said.

Merlone Geier Partners, a real estate investment firm in San Francisco, is moving forward with its revised plan submitted in June, abandoning an alternate, larger-scale proposal that was pitched earlier this year. Ross Guehring, spokesperson for the company, said its proposal for 1,422 homes is “the preferred project for all stakeholders.” The scrapped alternative called for 1,865 homes. “After more than three years of community collaboration and thoughtful design revisions, we’re thrilled to present the final version of this project,” Guehring said.

The show will raise crucial funds for Prader-Willi Homes of California, formerly known as The Richard de Lone Special Housing Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing and supporting residential living for individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome.
