In the nine months since Todd Cusimano took the helm at Mill Valley City Hall, he’s faced plenty of turbulence, namely striking a balance between creating the conditions in our town that spur additional workforce and affordable housing opportunities and navigating multiple large construction projects happening simultaneously. His predecessor, Alan Piombo, also faced plenty of choppiness, earning a reputation for engagement, decisiveness and a steady hand, particularly through City Hall’s navigation of a long overdue, much-needed local conversation on issues of racial violence and systemic inequality in the aftermath of the murder of George Floyd and many others, as well as the need for a DEI Task Force that eventually became MVFREE.

As he continues to build his team among City Hall’s longtime veterans and new hires, including the recent hire of Ashley Howe to spearhead Arts & Recreation, Cusimano is teaming up with Vice Mayor Urban Carmel for a “Community Chat” at 5:30pm on Thursday, May 11 at Mill Valley City Hall and via Zoom. “This will be the first in a series of informal meetings intended to give you the opportunity to discuss current issues, ask questions, make suggestions, and share what is on your mind,” Cusimano says.

There are no time limits and no structure – just join us and have a chat! All are welcome.
