The Mill Valley Arts Commission’s Comedy in the Plaza is always an amazing evening of laughs in the gorgeous setting of the Depot Plaza – but it only happens once a year and leaves those of us who like to LOL wanting more and sending us out of town to see great standup comedy.

Not anymore.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the folks at the Throckmorton Theatre are reviving Tuesday Night Comedy, one of Mill Valley’s iconic events, starting Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 7pm, and weekly thereafter at 8pm. Tix are $21 GA, $30 for reserved seating.

“We are thrilled to announce the much-awaited return of Tuesday Night Comedy, the weekly stand up show that has been home to some of the greats (Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Mort Sahl, Mark Pitta and many more), and launched the careers of many new to the scene,” says Louise Dockstader, development director for the Throckmorton..

The Oct. 11th edition of Tuesday Night Comedy kicks off with a special panel format, in partnership with Litquake. Michael Meehan will serve as the emcee for the event, which will celebrate the release of the new book Bay Area Stand-Up Comedy: A Humorous History, by Nina G and OJ Patterson. The panel will feature some of Tuesday Night Comedy’s longtime staples, including Larry Bubbles Brown, Terrell “Big T” Butler, Mean Dave, Debi Durst, Loren Kraut, Don Novello, Tony Sparks and of course Nina G and OJ Patterson.
