When the then-fledgling Whole Foods Market opened its store at 414 Miller Ave. in 1989, it had just 11 locations nationwide. At the outset of 2015, the Austin, Texas-based chain had 410 stores throughout the U.K., Canada and 42 U.S. states – including two in tiny Mill Valley alone.

Whole Foods on Miller is celebrating its 23rd birthday this Saturday (July 11) with a party featuring live Caribbean music from Asheba, an inflatable slide from Jubilee Jumps, face painter and balloon artist Oliver Twist, Marin Human Society dog adoptions and tons of vendors serving up free samples.

The 411: Whole Foods Market on Miller’s 23rd birthday bash is Saturday, July 11, 12-3pm. 414 Miller Avenue.
