The Throckmorton Theatre’s vaunted youth program is heading to 42nd Street this month, with the Throckmorton Youth Performers taking on the acclaimed Broadway musical with six performances, starting Friday, March 6.

42nd Street is a celebration of Broadway itself. Based on the novel by Bradford Ropes and the subsequent 1933 film adaptation, it focuses on the efforts of famed dictatorial Great White Way director Julian Marsh to mount a successful stage production of a musical extravaganza at the height of the Great Depression. It won the 1980 Tony for Best Musical and the 2001 Tony for Best Revival.

Led by Youth Program Director Steven Hess, Throckmorton Youth Performers provides affordable, engaging and educational theatrical experiences for young people of all backgrounds, ages and abilities. Each season four theatrical productions are put on stage with performers of exceptional potential and talent.

The 411: Throckmorton Youth Performers perform 42nd Street at the Throckmorton Theatre on March 6–8 and March 13–15. The Friday performances are at 7:30pm, while the Saturday and Sunday shows are at 2pm. Click here for more info.
