The Throckmorton Theatre’s longstanding Wednesday Noon Concert series offered the perfect respite for music lovers in downtown Mill Valley, serving up an array of multi-talented choral groups, ensembles, quartets and more for a midweek sonic journey at lunchtime.

Throckmorton officials are shifting gears in July, replacing that midday series with Twilight Concerts from 6:30-7:30pm throughout July. The free concerts – donations are accepted – kick off with The Django Reinhardt-loving Le Jazz Hot Quartet, featuring Evan Price, Isabelle Fontaine, Sam Rocha and Paul Mehling, on Thursday, July 5.

The Berkeley Choro Ensemble, which plays the intricate and swinging Brazilian music that bloomed in the late 19th century, keeps its going on July 12, featuring Jane Lenoir, Harvey Wainapel, Ricardo Peixoto and Brian Rice.

Violinist Anthony Blea‘s Afro-Cuban Quartet featuring Saul Sierra-Alonso, Marco Diaz and Julio Perez hits the stage on July 19, while Del Sol String Quartet – Benjamin Kreith, Rick Shinozaki, Carlton Lee and Kathryn Bates – close out the month on July 26.
