The Mill Valley Library held its 4th Annual Teen Slam Poetry Competition, with a massive crowd turning out to hear an array of talented young writers perform their original works of slam poetry, a form of poetry that puts dual emphasis on writing and performance.
“We are here tonight to celebrate young people and their poetry – who’s down for that?” host Chinaka Hodge said to open the event, eliciting huge applause. “There’s like 200 people in here!”
