Strawberry Village Dogtoberfest

DOGtoberfest

Looking to watch dozens of pets and their human sidekicks strut their stuff onstage in their Halloween costumes – or even better, be one of them?

Strawberry Village shopping center hosts its annual DOGtoberfest on Saturday, October 30 from 12-3pm — featuring interactive, pet-related activities and resources for pet lovers and their four-legged family friends. Festivities will include free pet photos, pet sketch artist, pet psychic, animal rescue organizations and adoptions, and more.

The main event is the Howl’oween Pet Costume Contest, which starts at 2pm, benefiting Hopalong Animal Rescue & Marin Humane and their critical work rescuing thousands of animals in need each year. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Every pet will receive a doggy swag bag for participating. Registration is at all Woodland Pet Foods & Treats anytime during business hours until October 29.

The donation suggestions for registration are Pug Level: $10, Standard Poodle Level: $15 and Great Dane Level: $20+ and includes goodies for owners and their pets, with 100% of the registration fee donated to Hopalong, now a division of Marin Humane, and Marin Humane itself.

Children accompanied by parents are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat at participating merchants between 12-3pm. They can pick up a trick-or-treat bag in the Piazza, located near Woodlands Pet Food & Treats (while supplies last) and go on a hunt for fun, games and goodies provided by participating Strawberry Village stores.
