Looking to watch dozens of pets and their human sidekicks strut their stuff onstage in their Halloween costumes – or even better, be one of them?

Strawberry Village shopping center and Woodland Pet Foods & Treats are teaming up once again for the 4th annual DOGtoberfest event on Saturday, October 27th from 3-6pm. In addition to the Howl’oween Pet Costume Contest at 5pm, the event also features interactive pet-related activities like free pet photos, a pet sketch artist, pet psychic, animal rescue organizations and adoptions, as well as resources for pet lovers and their four-legged family friends.

There will also be center-wide trick or treating for kids and their families, as children accompanied by parents are invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat at participating merchants between 3-6pm. They can pick up a trick-or-treat bag in the Piazza, located near Woodlands Pet Food & Treats (while supplies last) and go on a hunt for fun, games and goodies provided by participating Strawberry Village stores.

The Howl’oween Pet Parade and Costume Contest benefits Hopalong and Second Chance Animal Rescue, with prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Each pet receives a doggy swag bag for participating. Registration is at Woodlands Pet Food & Treats (Strawberry Village location only) anytime during business hours until October 27. Registration fee is $10 ($15 on October 27) and includes goodies for owners and their pets. One hundred percent of the registration fee will be donated to Hopalong & Second Chance Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate the euthanasia of adoptable animals throughout Northern California.
