To find inspiration for its annual spring performance, Singers Marin‘s youth choruses turned back the clock more than 130 years – 1886, to be specific.

For their “Our World…Our Future” concert on May 21 at the Strawberry Recreation Center, the Singers Marin choruses are leaning on “Carnival of the Animals,”“humorous musical suite” of fourteen movements that the French Romantic composer Camille Saint-Saëns created on the heels a disastrous concert tour of Germany. The result, “Carnival!,” is a “choral menagerie,” will be performed along with a variety of songs that celebrate and honor this special place we call our home,” says Singers Marin Artistic Director Jan Pedersen Schiff.

The 411: The “Our World…Our Future” concert is on May 21 at 4pm at the Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 East Strawberry Drive. Tix $5-$15. The concert will feature each of the ensembles singing separately and together. MORE INFO & TIX.
