The Mill Valley Community Center got Seussified last weekend, and welcomed hundreds of children and their families in doing so.

The Center played host to this year’s Storybook Ball, the Mill Valley Library Foundation’s fundraiser for the Library’s kids and young adult programs. The event “celebrated the whimsical and magical world of Dr. Seuss,” organizers said, and drew more than 350 young children and their families, raising $80,000 in the process.

To date, the Storybook Ball has raised $200,000 to support the Library’s programs for children and teens. Over the past year, the library offered more than 700 free programs that drew 26,500 youth and teens.

The Storybook Ball featured Seuss characters, face painting, an array of craft projects like building Trufula trees, food and sweet treats and a jumpy house.
