Mill Valley Music owner Gary Scheuenstuhl and his longtime bandmates are set to return to the Throckmorton Theatre on Saturday, July 1 as part of the Sticky Fingers Project featuring the Marinfidels and a number of special guests.
They will be performing the Rolling Stones’ album “Sticky Fingers” in its entirety, and the record features some of the biggest smash hits of that era, including “Brown Sugar,” “Wild Horses” and “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking.” “Brown Sugar” was recorded during a remarkably productive three-day session on Dec. 2-4, 1969 at Muscle Shoals in Sheffield, Ala., with Jagger completing the lyrics over a 45-minute span. They debuted the song two days later on Dec. 6 at the infamous Altamont Speedway show.
Tickets are $25 for general admission and $38 for reserved seating.
The concert is brought to you by Mill Valley Music, a record store that continues to survive and thrive in the modern age of digital downloading, and that’s dedicated to keeping music alive in Mill Valley.
