If you’ve seen the Rock the Ages Chorus perform live, you already know that they’re not to be missed.

Ranging in age from 80 to 100 years old, the dynamic chorus of seniors from The Redwoods regularly dazzle with their own renditions of a repertoire that spans five decades of rock ‘n’ roll and includes songs by James Brown, the Rolling Stones, Ramones, Eurythmics, Pussy Cat Dolls (seriously), Coldplay and many more.

Under the direction of Barry Blum, Rock the Ages headlines a Roots to Rock Concert event at the Community Church of Mill Valley on Sunday, May 7 (4-6pm). They’ll be supported by opener Blithedale Canyon, a four-year-old quartet of pickers, strummers and singers that includes Larry Carlin, Claudia Hampe, Gary Kaye and Gary Bauman. Blithedale Canyon plays bluegrass and roots music, diving into the catalogs of Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline and Emmylou Harris, among others.
