The folks at the Mill Valley Lumber Yard are always brimming with new ideas, and the weirdest summer in memory is no different. They’ve launched Lunchtime at the Lumber Yard, a live music music series on Saturdays from 12-2pm.

“After grabbing lunch at one of our restaurants, safely sit outdoors and enjoy the music,” MVLY co-owner Jan Mathews. “Then feel free to shop our amazing stores. Safety is very important to us. We have three sanitizer stations throughout The Yard for your use. Please remember to stay six feet apart and don’t forget your mask!”

Here’s the  Lunchtime at the Lumber Yard lineup:

Aug 1: Who’s feeling young now ( Bluegrass)
Who’s Feeling Young Now is a children’s   bluegrass band from the Bay Area. They have performed at a variety of farmer’s markets, civic events and venues around the Bay Area.

Aug 8th: Rick Perko
Rick Perko will be performing solo fingerstyle acoustic guitar. He will be playing from the genre known as “American Primitive”, an acoustic mix of blues, country, and bluegrass in combination with more modern harmonic and melodic material. Rick is also co-owner of Flour Craft Bakery and all tips will be going to KIDDO.

Aug 15th: David Chapman
David is influenced by the history of music and the deep networks which have been developed behind the scenes between the performers, producers, studios, and the promoters.  Popular or fringe, the incredible catalog of music to choose from often feels limitless, though the lines can be blurred when looking at our forefathers of  studio musicians who have spent generations hopping studios between Muscle Shoals, Motown, Lee “Scratch” Perry to Ry Cooder’s world class All Star bands.

Aug 22: LOUIZA
LOUIZA is the indie-pop-soul voice of San Francisco-born artist Rebecca Mimiaga, whose penchant for sweet yet strange melodies yields bright, heady and immovable pop hooks. Mimiaga’s expertise ranges from opera and jazz to classical, as well as musical theatre, having studied at both Skidmore College and The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Rebecca is also the daughter of talented Victoria Mimiaga, who has a studio at the Lumber Yard.

Aug 29th: Cole Tate Band
Today the Cole Tate Band centers around the exciting stage presence and vocal blend of Cole and his talented wife Mikaële Dawn Tate. Mikaële, a dynamic vocalist, radiant performer and polished songwriter, is the perfect counterpart to Cole’s energetic stage show, deep soulful vocals and soaring guitar licks! Together they form an amazing musical centerpiece, fronting a tight, driving backing band that is an absolute crowd pleaser.
