Now the foundation is set to host Story Walk, an all-ages, community-based fundraising event benefiting the foundation that calls for attendees to walk from the Mill Valley Public Library to Tam High and/or the Mill Valley Lumber Yard. In doing so, they’ll learn more about the library, historical landmarks and points of interest while enjoying our wonderful town. The event is set for Sunday, October 24, 9am-1pm.
Registrants receive:
- An event t-shirt (sizes available on a first come basis)
- A celebration medal for Story Walk finishers (received at Library)
- Beverages and snacks along the route
- Access to a silent auction in the Peter Dreyfus Garden adjacent to the library
The walks start at 9, 9:15, 9:30, 9:45 , 10, 10:15, 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. Tickets are $25 per person, $65 for two to four people in a household and $100 for five to eight people in a household.
When selecting your ticket and your preferred start time, scroll down to select the preferred shirt size for each participating walker.
It should be noted that the event is taking place rain or shine – bring an umbrella AND your phone headphones so you can listen to the various mill valley historical narratives along the route while keeping your phone dry in your pocket rather than reading the narratives.
Hi Andrew! Sorry but decided that I wasn’t going to brave walking in the rain and wind with my walker. I’m still recovering from a fall and thought I could easily do the short leg of the walk. If there’s a chance my t-shirt is still there, I would love to pick it up from somebody, let me know if that can happen.
Thanks, Patti
