The 47th Annual Muir Beach Volunteer Firemen’s Barbecue, a longtime Memorial Day weekend favorite, returns to Santos Meadows on Frank Valley Road with two primary objectives: raise money for the Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department, and have a heck of a lot of fun while doing so.

They’ll look to accomplish both of those goals once again with the help of live music by local favorites Andre Pessis and his All-Stars and opening band Soul Ska, as well as barbecue from the grill and a raffle of more than 100 prizes. There’s also an array of children’s games and activities, including a special play zone with climbing walls, bounce houses, and a mechanical bull to tame.

The event is set for Sunday, May 26, from noon to 5pm. Follow the signs from Muir Beach or Muir Woods. Volunteers will be selling barbecue chicken and vegetarian tamale lunches, hand made desserts, sodas, beer and wine, as well as clothing and other items featuring the famous Muir Beach Volunteer Fire Department iconic dog logo. Parking is $20 per vehicle; carpooling is encouraged.
