When Erin Seavey and Dave Tint launched their newly expanded and newly named Mt. Tam Dog Company in July 2014, they simply looked up – to Mount Tamalpais. Now they’re looking to the broader Mill Valley community for the possible next chapter for the business, as they hope to sell the retail shop at 6 Miller Avenue before its expected closure on March 1. The future of the dog walking portion of the business is still in the works, Seavey says

“It’s been something we’ve been thinking about for quite a while and this is the right time to do it,” says Seavey, a Marin native who grew up in Novato and who owned the Alpha Dog retail shop in the same location for more than two years before re-launching it as Mt. Tam Dog Co. and incorporating a dog walking service led by Tint.

“Mount Tam has always been the backdrop for everything we believe in for people and their pets,” Seavey says. “We’re all about the health and fitness of dogs, love of the great outdoors, and we’re hoping we can find someone interested in carrying on that tradition.”

“We’ve always been all about reflecting an outdoor passion for nature and staying fit, both for dogs and people,” Seavey says. “We hope it continues!”

The 411: Mt. Tam Dog Company retail shop will close on March 1. Interested parties should contact Seavey via email at erin@mttamdog.com. Click here for more info.
