Mill Valley Philharmonic is spreading its wings in celebration of its 20th anniversary this year.

On the heels of unveiling a 2019-20 season of a dozen performances of live chamber music, the nonprofit organization whose mission is “to enrich the cultural life of the Bay Area by offering orchestral programs to people of all ages and means in their own communities” has announced a new collaboration with the Homestead Valley Community Center on a quartet of concerts.

Mill Valley Philharmonic will provide the chamber ensembles – largely drawn from members of the orchestra – and HVCC will provide its Great Room as the venue. All concerts in the series will be presented admission free, says MVP Executive Director Richard Aldag.

“Mill Valley Philharmonic is extremely excited about this collaboration with Homestead Valley Community Center,” Aldag says. “As soon as I saw HVCC’s beautiful Great Room, I thought that it was perfect for an intimate chamber music series. David Ross and Summer Shapiro at HVCC are great partners and we are all looking forward to providing these concerts to the community.”

The organizations have planned four Thursday evening concerts, all beginning at 7pm, over the course of the 2019-2020 season:

  • Chamber Music Concert 1 – Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 7:00 PM
  • Chamber Music Concert 2 (Holiday Themed) – Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 7:00 PM
  • Chamber Music Concert 3 (Valentine Themed) – Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 7:00 PM
  • Chamber Music Concert 4 – Thursday, April 23, 2020 at 7:00 PM

Limited seating (60) will be available on a first come, first served basis. Parking at HVCC is extremely limited, so guests are urged to utilize street parking, carpooling, and ride share options as much as possible.
