Attendees of the 66th Annual Sausalito Art Festival will see quite the artistic attraction on their way to and from the event over Labor Day weekend. Mill Valley native Melanie Victor-Smith is using the festival, which regularly draws some 25,000 patrons, as a launchpad of sorts for Artstream, her new mobile art gallery inside her 1954 Airstream trailer.
“My vision has become a reality and I can’t wait to share it,” Victor-Smith says.
She’ll park the converted Airstream outside artist Eric Zener’s studio at 60 Liberty Ship Way, just around the corner from the festival. The walls of the Artstream will feature the ocean photography of Ethan Okamura.
“Whether you will be attending the festival or just want to come by for an espresso, I hope to see you over the holiday weekend,” wrote in a note to friends.
