After nearly four decades in San Francisco, dealer Anthony Meier moved his acclaimed gallery to Mill Valley in 2023, taking over the spaces on Throckmorton that were previously occupied by Pollen + Wool and Christopher Salon.

Now Meier is set to showcase “All Glass,” the new sculpture exhibition by acclaimed artist Larry Bell, “transforming the Mill Valley gallery space as only Bell can,” as the San Francisco Chronicle‘s Tony Bravo writes.

“Bell’s work is known for how it often changes the perceptions of the spaces it is exhibited in, as light passes through pieces like box sculptures and glass walls works. The gallery’s abundance of skylights and Marin’s gorgeous variances of sun conditions are an exciting addition to the site-specific nature of Bell’s practice,” Bravo writes.

The centerpiece of the exhibition is a display of Bell’s six chevron sculptures in shades of red, “Pacific Reds II,” which were previously exhibited at Pepperdine University. Reimagined for the Mill Valley space,  the works bath the gallery in red light, shifting throughout the day as the sun moves.

The artist has also created, for the first time in his more than 50-year career, a new configuration of his nesting trioliths. Titled “Mill Valley Study,” the piece is on view in the gallery’s front window vitrine.

“Larry Bell: All Glass”: 10 a.m.-5-p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Through April 12. Free. Anthony Meier Fine Art, 21 Throckmorton Ave., Mill Valley. 415-351-1400.
