If you’ve stopped by the Mill Valley Lumber Yard to check out Watershed Mill Valley from restaurateur Ged Robertson and chef Kyle Swain since it opened in July, you likely noted how perfectly it fits into the fabric of the 127-year-old historic landmark property that owners Matt and Jan Mathews bought in 2012 and turned into a local destination unto itself.
Now the Marin Independent Journal‘s Leanne Battelle has taken notice, calling Watershed the “kind of casual eatery that invites a short stop for a stellar burger or pizza, or a longer linger among friends for more sophisticated fare,” and noting that while “the renovation Robertson did in collaboration with architects Mary Peterson and Chris Dorman of Dorman Associates in Mill Valley stretched out over more than two years,” “one of good things about taking a long time is that you can let the space evolve naturally, one piece at time.”
