“Mill Valley Story Walk” will begin and end at the library itself, with plenty of fun planned for up and down Miller Ave.
The Mill Valley Library Foundation has long established itself as a powerhouse organization in support of one of Mill Valley’s treasures: the Mill Valley Public Library. It has done so in myriad ways, from its establishment of a multi-million-dollar endowment and Legacy Giving program to creative events that celebrate literature for all ages like the Beyond the Book Bash and the Storybook Ball.

Now the foundation is laying the groundwork for another event to benefit the library. Set for Sunday, Oct. 24th, it’s a family-friendly Walkathon fundraiser that is diverse, equitable and inclusive and begins and ends at the library. There will be two versions – one going to the Mill Valley Lumber Yard and back for older adults and the parents with small children, and another going to Tam High and back.

Joan Steidinger, co-chair of the Mill Valley Library Foundation Events Committee, says they’re on the hunt for sponsors to join Mill Valley Rotary Club and Mill Valley Market. They’ll be hosting a raffle, serving up goodies for kids and have kids dress up as literary characters at the rest stops might be fun as well.

We’ll be updating this pace with more info as it becomes available. In the meantime, email here with questions.
