When the Marin City Skatepark re-opened last month after being closed for most of the past two years because of liability concerns, it was a relief to all involved, perhaps no one more than the folks at Proof Lab in Tam Junction who had been the driving force in making the park happen in the first place.
They’ll be celebrating that relief by welcoming Levi’s ‘Pull Up On The Spot’ tour on Saturday, Nov. 3. The tour is designed to support local skate communities long-term, so Proof Lab used some of the event budget to build new features at the Marin City Skatepark, including a locker shed to store donated skateboards and pads for free local skate lessons at the park.
The event starts at Proof Lab, where they’ll have free screenprinting and refreshments from 12-2pm, before heading to the Marin City Skatepark from 2-5pm to hang with Proof Lab and the Levi’s Skate Team. There will be a jam-format skate contest with three divisions: 11yrs and under, 12-15yrs, and 16 and up, as well as live mural painting and a free taco truck.
