Emily Dvorin is a sculpture basket maker and a fine artist.

But that doesn’t quite do justice to exactly what it is that Dvorin does. The Sausalito artist transforms recognizable household objects and urban materials into dynamic, visual comments on daily life, overconsumption of commercial goods, societal excess, detritus and throwaway consumerism.

At an April 5th talk at the Outdoor Art Club, Dvorin will share her craft, and help others discover how to tell their own stories by repurposing the ordinary objects in their lives and turn them into vessels that speak of their unique passion and purpose. Dvorin will bring a number of her “transordinary vessels” to display.
