Peggy Hewett, a longtime Mill Valley who was deeply engaged in the local community as both a past president of the Outdoor Art Club and the former manager of the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce, died late last month at her home at the Redwoods. She was 92.
Hewett was a member of the Outdoor Art Club for 32 years, having joined in 1984. She served as President in 1996-97. From 1982-1987, she ran the Mill Valley Chamber, managing an organization that boasted a membership base of around 300. Each year, she organized the Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade, which is now run by Larry “the Hat” Lautzker and the I Love a Parade Committee.
A memorial service for Hewett will be held at the Redwoods on Saturday, April 29, at 2 p.m.
