A Portion of proceeds will benefit the Tam High Foundation

In April 2018, when Heather Hardcastle and her husband Rick Perko opened the second location of their gluten-free Flour Craft Bakery at the Mill Valley Lumber Yard, they did so with the intent to use the new space as a platform to expand their offerings to “be a more fully realized vision of what Flour Craft can be.”

To celebrate the holiday season as part of a four-day, multi-faceted Holiday Faire event at MVLY from Dec. 8-11, Flour Craft is hosting a Gingerbread Decorating workshop on Sunday Dec. 11, 2:30-4pm in the flex sheds across from the bakery entrance. Ages 6+. Advance registration is required.

“Flour Craft will provide a pre-assembled (gluten free) gingerbread house, royal icing, and an assortment of festive holiday candy,” Hardcastle says. “Bring your imagination to and create your own masterpiece.”

That fully realized vision of Flour Craft continued to expand in 2021, when Hardcastle unveiled the Flour Craft Bakery & Cafe Cookbook, a 224-page cookbook via Rizzoli Books available at both Flour Craft locations (129 Miller Ave. at the Mill Valley Lumber Yard and 702 San Anselmo Avenue in San Anselmo), on Flour Craft’s website and via the usual online channels (AmazonBarnes & Noble).

A fully assembled (6”x8”) gingerbread house will be provided as will royal icing and an array of festive candies for decorating. Participants will be able to take home their finished masterpiece. Sign-ups are online. The cost is $75.00 per person with a maximum of 20 people. Advance reservations are required and payment is due at time of booking and is non-refundable.

Five percent of proceeds will be donated to Tam High Foundation.
