With a pair of events Friday, Mill Valley Recreation is going all in on the Halloween spirit.

The spooktacular fun kicks off with the first of two editions of the family Halloween Music & Magic Show at 4pm, featuring the lively music of Andy Z and the thrills and chills from Zappo the Magician’s Halloween magic show. Zappo combines comedy, audience participation and magic in a 45-minute show “for goblins aged 3 to 103.”

From 5–6:30pm, Mill Valley Recreation hosts an event adding a new twist to trick or treating. Trunk or Treat features a dozen “trunks” that will be in the Community Center parking lot along with a Food Truck (Lets Eat Grill Stop) providing a Trunk and Treating area featuring some treats and activities for kids. Trunks include: MV Recreation, Dia De los Muertos, Urban Sitter, Mad Science, SASM, Senior Program, Amazing Science and Doodlebug. The Mill Valley Fire Department will also be present with an engine and Halloween cheer.

The second editions of the family Halloween Music & Magic Show follows at 6:30pm.

General admission tickets for the family Halloween Music & Magic Show are $9 each, children 3 years and under are free. Tickets are on sale now at the Mill Valley Community Center, 180 Camino Alto. For more information call the Mill Valley Parks and Recreation Department at 383-1370.
