One year after missing the Dipsea Race because of hamstring surgery, Sausalito’s Chris Lundy overtook two-time winner Jamie Rivers and held off perennial favorite Alex Varner to conquer the 107th Dipsea Race on Sunday morning.

Lundy, 46, finished the age- and gender-handicapped, 7.5-mile race from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach with a time of 49 minutes, 9 seconds (1:01.09 without the handicap), adding to a career that has seen finish second three times and nabbing the top women’s time on six occasions.
