Marin IJ: Mill Valley Looks to Rehabilitate Roof of Historic Mill
āIf you look under it from the inside, you can see daylight throughout it, and thereās some places vegetation is starting to grow and get hold, and itās an untreated wood-shingle roof, so it has a fairly short lifespan,ā said Mark Neumann, the cityās deputy director of operations and utilities. The creekside mill in Cascade Canyon was one of the first built in the Bay Area, according to the Mill Valley Historical Society. Erected around 1835 by John Reed, it is one of the oldest standing mills in California.

With unanimous support from the Mill Valley City Council and endorsements from 12 former Mayors, Measure L has also been backed by key local organizations including the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce.

A research team from the University of Oxford then compiled all 215,801 responses into a map of the state, broken down by county.
