When Blaisdell’s Business Products hired Mill Valley resident Clifford Waldeck to expand the company into Marin County two years ago, the former two-term City Councilman made a strategic move to have Blaisdell’s join the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center. Now the Oakland-based office supply company, the largest female-owned, independent business products supplier in the Bay Area, is deeply entrenched in Marin.
“First and foremost, joining the Chamber got our company dialed into the local business community,” Waldeck says. “Attending and donating prizes at Chamber mixers helped get Blaisdell’s story in front of prospective customers. Multi-Chamber hosted workshops helped sharpen business outreach skills and offered the opportunity to be up close and personal with other businesses, and events like Wine, Beer & Gourmet Food Tasting and Winterfest were wonderful opportunities to meet people in the community who have businesses in San Francisco…a very large population in Mill Valley.”
Blaisdell’s has many customers throughout Mill Valley and beyond, including the City of Mill Valley, the Mill Valley School District, MCE Clean Energy, Marin Municipal Water District, Seagate Properties as well as at least 15 other Chamber member businesses.
With each order, Blaisdell’s delivery driver and Mill Valley native Chris Paasch hands out complimentary Ghirardelli Chocolates. “A sweet deal for all involved,” Waldeck says with a laugh.
