The presidency of Donald Trump has been a huge boon to the already popular array of political comedy content on late night TV shows. But Audacity, a performance set for August 9 at the Throckmorton Theatre, offers a twist by mixing that Trump-inspired comedy with “musical merriment.”

With actor Erik Chalfant playing Trump and Laura Esserman taking on the roles of Melania Trump, Kellyanne Conway, Ivanka Trump and Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the show’s organizer’s promise to “sing and dance our way through the astonishing events of the past two years. Cringe, cry, laugh, sing with us as we ultimately find a path forward to a better place.”

The performance is backed by the “MoDacity Band” featuring pianist Tom Shaw, drummer Louis Blumberg, trombonist Barbara Hamilton and guitarist Vic Sher. The cast also includes Greg Hicks as Vice President Mike Pence, Jared Kushner, Chris Krolik  as Hillary Clinton and Sanzia Roman as Paul Ryan and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The 411: Audacity is an evening of musical merriment and comedy inspired by the president of Donald Trump. It’s set for Thursday, August 9 at 7:30pm at the Throckmorton Theatre, 142 Throckmorton Avenue. MORE INFO & TIX.
