The organization will have an auction of select items available.

“We continue to support our Parks and Recreation programs in partnership with people like you, our sports groups and other organizations, in addition to the City of Mill Valley. Since 2016, with your involvement, we have been able to donate over $400,000 to support Parks and Recreation,” Murray says.

That includes projects in Mill Valley, such as a Scholarship matching program, an additional Community Garden, sports field renovations, Community Center enhancements, a Skate Park renovation and much more.

Mill Valley Friends of Parks and Recreation, an organization that has been part of the lifeblood of Mill Valley’s sports fields, facilities and critical parts of vital infrastructure, is once again gathering the community to reach its lofty goals to support soccer, baseball, lacrosse, football programs and much more by raising money for users of all ages – from the the community center pool and fitness center to community points like Downtown Plaza and the community gardens.

Since 2016, community support has driven donations of more than $375,000 to support Parks and Recreation projects in Mill Valley. In order to continue its mission to advocate and provide funding for Parks & Recreation programs and improvement of facilities, they are hosting a fundraiser at the Mill Valley Community Center on Thursday, October 12th, 5:30 – 9:30pm. There will be drinks, dinner, auctions and more.

100% of all proceeds will go towards Parks and Recreation projects.

Bottom line: The presence of parks and recreation in Mill Valley is ubiquitous, and the Mill Valley Friends of Parks and Recreation works with the city to ensure that Mill Valley’s fields, recreation programs and facilities continue to be a first-class experience. In recent years, the organization has helped fund projects like the Skate Park renovation, improvements at the Mill Valley Golf Course, landscaping outside the Community Center, the Community Garden annex, the Dog Park Agility Course, a scholarship matching program and more sports field renovations.

There has also been significant support for $60,000 for a Fund-A-Need for three projects: scholarships for Mill Valley Recreation programs and a Bicycle Pump Track.
