Scenes from Le Marais Bakery.

Foodgressing.com, a food, travel and lifestyle brand sharing news and reviews on restaurants, products, travel and local happenings and founded in 2014 by Areta Wong, has trained its foodie eye on the incredibly delicious Le Marais Bakery at 250 East Blithedale.
The former East Blithedale Avenue home of Mill Valley Services, Tony Tutto Pizza and SummerHouse has long been transformed into a multi-faceted space featuring Le Marais, AP Luxe Salon + Blow Dry Bar and Belle Marin Aesthetic Medicine and an office for Compass real estate agents.

French native Patrick Ascaso was on a mission to recreate the boulangerie from his childhood in France, and that’s exactly what he did. The bakery and bistro first opened in 2013 on Chestnut Street in San Francisco with another location in Ghiradelli Square, one on Castro Street and a commissary kitchen on the way in the Tenderloin, looks to open in a 1,365-square-foot space in the main building. They have since pared back some of their locations

In 2013, Ascaso opened this bakery in the Marina neighborhood in San Francisco. While it has changed locations since then, Le Marais currently has three locations – one in the Castro-Mission neighborhood, another in Mill Valley, and an artisanal commissary kitchen in the center of town.

Le Marais, named after the popular historic district in Paris, boasts a menu that ranges from coffee and pastries, baguettes and desserts to an array of breakfast, lunch and dinner items, including French favorites like traditional the croque monsieur and madame (menu).
