One of the bright spots during the 2021 chapter of the pandemic was the bloom of al fresco everything, with the Depot Plaza abuzz with activity, from buskers of all stripes and SF Opera performers on hiatus to socially distanced outdoor dining on picnic tables from the City of Mill Valley and all manner of impromptu gatherings related to diversity and equity. That included official City of Mill Valley events like the always hilarious Comedy on the Plaza, as well as the ever-exciting Comedy in the Plaza – set for June 16th (6:30pm) – and Concerts in the Plaza, which is set to take over downtown Mill Valley Sept. 10-11.
Come Sept. 10-11 (11am-7pm), the Depot Plaza’s going to be rockin’ to a degree we haven’t seen in a long time. The Mill Valley Arts Commission revived the series with two full days of live music featuring an array of acclaimed local bands, as well as a few exciting special guests. For both events, City officials are closing the block of Miller Ave. between Throckmorton & Sunnyside avenues to allow for outdoor dining and extra space for health and safety. Depot Plaza. Free.
