Six weeks ago, having shut down his stalwart Italian eatery in downtown Mill Valley amidst the COVID-19 crisis and subsequent shelter in place, Vasco owner Paul Lazzareschi launched a GoFundMe campaign in a desperate attempt to support his employees, many of whom have worked for him for years.
It didn’t take long for Lazzareschi to get a clear sense of his customers’ support for Vasco and its employees.
The GoFundMe has raised more than $32,000 to support the employees.
Better yet, Lazzareschi is set to reopen Vasco, for takeout service only for its full menu, on Thursday, May 7.
