Marin Independent Journal‘s Mary Ann Hogan recently looked at the term “Millbilly” in all its dimensions, with Mill Valley native and Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival producer Steve Bajor saying the moniker simply describes “long-term locals from a gentler time.”

Two years ago, Bob Bijou’s Two Neat shop at 111 Throckmorton Ave. started selling “Millbilly” t-shirts. Now he and longtime locals Daniel Patrick and Erma Murphy of Murphy Productions are teaming up on an irregular, Millbilly-styled, BYOB pop-in party.

“It’s an opportunity to spend time with old friends and new ones at Two Neat,” Patrick says. “Bring a bottle of your favorite beverage and a glass. Mix and mingle, chart and bingle.”

The first pop-in party is set for Saturday, Nov. 11 (5-7pm) celebrating the art of cartoonist Scott Metzger (e.g., at left), whose greeting cards have long been among the most popular at Two Neat. Metzger will be there.

The 411: Two Neat is at 111 Throckmorton Avenue. MORE INFO
