Tuesday night still means loads of laughter in downtown Mill Valley.

After a brief hiatus, Tuesday Comedy Night is back at the Throckmorton Theatre, with a different format but the same laughter-inducing standup comedy from some of the best in the business. One week after Throckmorton Executive Director Lucy Mercer announced that Mark Pitta & Friends Tuesday Comedy Night was “taking a break to tune our creative batteries,” the weekly comedy format show returned March 10.

San Rafael resident Michael Pritchard, the “Ambassador of Joy,” served as host with his signature brand of heartfelt humor. The lineup included local favorite Johnny Steele as well as Suli McCullough and Dennis Blair, with Geoff Bolt dropping in for a sketch comedy sequence with Johnny Steele. “The crowd loved the SNL-style skit, shouting out suggestions that were weaved into the performance by the two comedians,” says Julian Kaelon, the Throckmorton’s marketing director.

Comedian and master impressionist Jeff Burghart hosted and headlined this week’s edition, with Conor Kellicut and Michael O’Brien as openers. “It’s actually an exciting approach, because you get to see different comedians interact and bring their own style to the evening,” Kaelon says. “Our Tuesday Night Comedy patrons can expect to see other special surprise hosts take the stage and add their own flare to the evening!”
